Today it's much easier to clip coupons with intentionality. One tool that makes this easier is Sunday Coupon Preview. This site lists the inserts and coupons that are expected to be out each week - before they come out on Sunday.

Keep in mind, the specific coupons and inserts in your area may vary from this list. The larger the distribution of your newspaper, the more coupons it will have. Also, most grocery stores in Maryland will double coupons up to $0.99, so the Crest coupon will double to $1.50, but the Colgate coupon will only be $1.00. I find it just a bit disconcerting that I've been at this for 20 years, and my coupon method is precisely what you described in your "before" statement. Oh, well! Maybe I'll never get into the deep end of the couponing pool, but I love gleaning little tips from bloggers and doing what I can to fill my home with inexpensive and sometimes free food and supplies. Keep it up!
